Safari Overview

Our 5 Day Ndutu Safari is timed for the calving season, from late January to early March, when hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra give birth on the short-grass plains of Ndutu in the southern Serengeti. The newborn calves draw lions, cheetahs, hyenas and jackals, which makes this some of the most exciting predator viewing in Africa.

The Wild Miracle Safari starts in Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. You then spend two full days following the herds around Ndutu before finishing with a game drive on the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places in Tanzania to see the Big Five, including the endangered black rhino.

This is a private safari in a 4×4 Land Cruiser with a professional driver-guide, with lodge and tented camp nights, all meals, park fees and airport transfers included. Want more time on the plains? See the 7-Day Luxury Green Season Safari, or travel with a small group on our 5-Day Great Migration Shared Safari.

Best Experience ever It was amazing to travel with Big Time Adventures in Tanzania. Nelson planned my safari according to my budget, preferences, and schedule and everything was perfect. We spent four days in northern Tanzania, visiting Tarangire, Ngorongoro crater and Lake Manyara National Park. Our guide, Richard, was very knowledgeable about wildlife, Tanzanian history, and local cultures and he was also very funny. The itinerary was perfect, our vehicle was smooth, the bush lunches and accommodations were excellent. I highly recommend Big Time Adventures to anyone looking for a safari in Tanzania.
