  • Day 1: Drive to Mikumi National Park

Depart early from Dar es Salaam and enjoy a scenic 5–6 hour drive through lush landscapes, traditional villages, and the stunning Uluguru Mountains. Arrive at Mikumi National Park in the afternoon, often called a “mini-Serengeti,” with its vast savannahs, acacia woodlands, and wildlife-rich Mkata Floodplain. Embark on a late afternoon game drive, spotting elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest while your Big Time Adventures guide shares insights about the park’s flora and fauna. In the evening, relax at your comfortable lodge or camp, reflecting on the day’s first safari encounters and preparing for the journey to Udzungwa National Park.

Upon arrival, explore the park’s dense forests, streams, and waterfalls on a guided hike, spotting endemic birds, monkeys, and rare plants while your Big Time Adventures guide highlights the unique biodiversity. In the evening, relax at your comfortable lodge near the park, reflecting on the day’s forest adventures and preparing for the journey to Saadani National Park.

Arriving in the afternoon, explore Saadani’s unique blend of savannah, riverine forests, and pristine beaches. Spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of birds, while coastal areas may reveal sea turtles along the shore.         Tanzania Combination Safaris

        After breakfast, enjoy a final morning in Saadani National Park with optional short game drives or a relaxing beach walk, taking in the unique blend of savannah and ocean. Spot wildlife one last time, including elephants, lions, and coastal sea turtles, while soaking in the serene views. In the afternoon, transfer to Zanzibar by boat or flight, reflecting on four days of diverse Tanzanian landscapes—from the savannahs of Mikumi and forests of Udzungwa to the coastal paradise of Saadani.

          Lush landscapes, fewer tourists, and excellent for birdwatching, but some roads in Mikumi and Saadani may be muddy, and wildlife is more dispersed.

          Also good for wildlife spotting and enjoying coastal activities in Saadani, though temperatures can be warmer.
