8 Days of Epic Exploration – Northern Circuit and Natron Journey

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be greeted by your Big Time Adventures team, who will assist with immigration and luggage before a scenic 45 km (28-mile) transfer to Arusha. Check into your comfortable hotel and relax, or explore Arusha’s vibrant markets if time permits. In the evening, join your guide for a welcome dinner and itinerary briefing, covering safety, highlights, and tips for the adventure ahead. Rest well—the journey begins tomorrow.

After an early breakfast, depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park, a scenic 3-hour drive through traditional villages and rolling landscapes. Tarangire is famed for its large elephant herds and the life-filled Tarangire River. Enjoy a morning game drive spotting lions, giraffes, buffalo, and other wildlife. Pause for a picnic lunch in the heart of the park before continuing your afternoon game drive, with chances to see hippos, zebras, impalas, and vibrant birdlife. In the evening, transfer to your comfortable lodge in Mto wa Mbu for dinner and overnight under the African stars.

After an early breakfast, depart Mto wa Mbu for Lake Natron, a 5–6 hour scenic drive through the dramatic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, enjoy a picnic lunch before embarking on a walking safari across the volcanic plains, spotting flamingos wading in the lake’s alkaline waters. Enjoy a short evening game drive en route to your tented lodge or camp, settle in for dinner, and rest to the sounds of the African wild.

Spend a full day exploring the Northern Serengeti, one of Africa’s most remote and wildlife-rich regions. After an early breakfast, embark on a game drive in search of big cats, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and abundant birdlife. Witness dramatic river crossings during the Great Migration (season permitting) and capture unforgettable wildlife moments. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the wilderness before returning to your tented lodge or camp in the late afternoon. Enjoy a 5–6 hour drive with game viewing along the way, pausing for a picnic lunch amid the African savannah. Encounter elephants, giraffes, antelopes, lions, cheetahs, and, in Seronera, leopards often resting in acacia trees. Arrive at your lodge by late afternoon, unwind, and watch a breathtaking Serengeti sunset over the endless plains—a perfect close to another unforgettable safari day.

After breakfast in the Central Serengeti, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a 4–5 hour drive through scenic landscapes and game-rich corridors. Enjoy wildlife sightings of elephants, buffalo, antelopes, and occasionally lions or hyenas along the way.
