Our Story
Big Time Adventures was founded by Nelson John Mgala, who grew up in the Arusha region surrounded by wildlife, park landscapes, and stories passed down through generations. His passion for nature began early, inspired by his grandfather’s tales and school excursions across Tanzania’s Northern Circuit.
As he studied Tourism Management and travelled the country, Nelson noticed something important:
Many people struggled to plan reliable trips because information was unclear or inconsistent.
If planning was difficult for locals, how much harder would it be for visitors from abroad?
This question planted the idea for Big Time Adventures.
Years later, Nelson met three travellers stranded at the airport after being scammed by a fake operator.
Seeing their frustration and realizing how many people around the world dreamed of visiting but didn’t know who to trust (a concern confirmed during a 2024 trip to the US) strengthened his mission to build a safari company rooted in truth, transparency, and genuine care.
A 2024 visit to the United States confirmed it — many people dreamed of visiting Tanzania but didn’t know where to begin.
From these experiences, Big Time Adventures Ltd was created.
